1. Commitment to Impartiality

ANCAS® is committed to maintaining impartiality in all of its certification activities, ensuring that every decision is made without bias or favoritism. This commitment is embedded in the core values and operational procedures of ANCAS®. To safeguard impartiality, ANCAS® has implemented rigorous protocols and standards that prevent conflicts of interest. Any potential risk of impartiality is systematically identified, analyzed, and mitigated to preserve the integrity of the certification process. ANCAS® believes that impartiality is the cornerstone of its credibility and trust with certified enterprises and stakeholders.

2. Governance Structure and Oversight

ANCAS® has established a governance structure designed to oversee impartiality across all certification activities. A dedicated impartiality committee, consisting of external and internal stakeholders, is responsible for monitoring and evaluating impartiality risks. This committee operates independently from certification activities to prevent undue influence on decision-making. Regular audits and reviews are conducted by the committee to ensure adherence to impartiality policies. The governance structure also includes channels for stakeholders to report any concerns related to impartiality, reinforcing ANCAS®'s transparency and accountability.

3. Conflict of Interest Policy

To maintain impartiality, ANCAS® enforces a stringent conflict of interest policy that applies to all employees, contractors, and third-party auditors. Any individuals involved in the certification process must disclose any personal or financial interests that could compromise their impartiality. ANCAS® takes proactive steps to reassign duties if a potential conflict of interest is identified. In cases where reassignment is not feasible, ANCAS® ensures that additional safeguards are put in place to preserve the integrity of the certification process. This policy is reviewed and updated periodically to address emerging risks and industry standards.

4. Independence from Commercial Influence

ANCAS® operates independently of any commercial, financial, or other interests that could influence its certification activities. It does not permit any external parties to affect the outcome of certification decisions, nor does it engage in consulting activities that could create a dependency with certified clients. This independence from commercial pressures allows ANCAS® to make impartial, objective, and unbiased decisions. All funding and financial transactions are transparently managed to avoid any undue influence or conflicts of interest. Through this financial and operational independence, ANCAS® upholds its reputation as a trusted certification authority.

5. Fair Access to Certification

ANCAS® is committed to providing fair access to certification for all applicants, regardless of their size, industry, or geographic location. Certification criteria are standardized and apply equally to all organizations seeking certification. No preferential treatment is given, and no undue requirements are imposed on applicants during the certification process. ANCAS® ensures that each organization undergoes the same rigorous evaluation based solely on merit and compliance with relevant standards. This approach fosters equality, transparency, and trust in ANCAS®'s certification activities.

6. Objective Decision-Making Process

All certification decisions made by ANCAS® are based solely on objective evidence and compliance with defined standards, eliminating any subjective biases. Decisions are thoroughly documented, and each step of the decision-making process is recorded to ensure transparency. ANCAS® does not permit personal opinions, external pressures, or unsubstantiated claims to influence certification outcomes. A multi-level review process ensures that certification decisions are fair, consistent, and unbiased. This structured approach reinforces ANCAS®’s commitment to impartial, evidence-based decision-making.

7. Transparency and Public Disclosure

ANCAS® is dedicated to transparency in its certification practices by openly sharing its policies, procedures, and criteria with the public. Key information, including impartiality policies, conflict of interest policies, and certification processes, are made available on ANCAS®'s website. This transparency allows clients and stakeholders to fully understand the principles guiding ANCAS®’s certification activities. Additionally, ANCAS® provides a mechanism for stakeholders to inquire about or challenge certification decisions, fostering a transparent and accountable environment. Public disclosure enhances trust and credibility in ANCAS®'s certification services.

8. Continuous Training on Impartiality

ANCAS® conducts regular training sessions for all staff and personnel involved in certification to ensure a deep understanding of impartiality principles. This training covers identifying and managing potential biases, upholding conflict of interest policies, and adhering to ANCAS®’s impartiality protocols. By instilling these values across the organization, ANCAS® ensures that all employees recognize and prioritize impartiality in their work. Continuous education on impartiality helps ANCAS® maintain high standards and reinforces a culture of integrity and objectivity. Training programs are updated to reflect industry changes and best practices.

9. Risk Assessment and Mitigation

ANCAS® regularly conducts impartiality risk assessments to identify and mitigate any factors that could compromise its certification activities. This includes evaluating internal processes, potential external influences, and specific client relationships. Once risks are identified, ANCAS® implements appropriate measures to eliminate or reduce these risks, ensuring that impartiality remains uncompromised. A risk management framework is in place to ensure these risks are continually monitored, and any emerging threats are promptly addressed. This proactive approach ensures ANCAS® remains vigilant in protecting its impartiality.

10. Independent Audits and Evaluations

To maintain impartiality, ANCAS® subjects itself to independent audits conducted by third-party organizations. These audits evaluate compliance with impartiality policies, standards, and practices, providing an objective assessment of ANCAS®’s certification processes. Independent audits ensure that any potential weaknesses in impartiality are promptly identified and addressed. ANCAS® takes audit findings seriously and uses them as an opportunity to improve its impartiality framework continually. This commitment to independent oversight strengthens ANCAS®’s integrity and credibility as a certification body.

11. Client Communication and Feedback

ANCAS® encourages open communication with its clients to address any concerns regarding impartiality. Clients are informed of ANCAS®’s impartiality policy, and they are given the opportunity to provide feedback on the certification process. Feedback is analyzed to identify areas for improvement and to reinforce impartiality in service delivery. ANCAS® takes client feedback seriously, viewing it as essential to maintaining a fair and transparent certification process. This open communication channel helps ANCAS® build trust with its clients while upholding its impartiality commitment.

12. Complaint and Appeals Mechanism

ANCAS® provides a formal complaint and appeals mechanism that allows clients to challenge certification decisions or raise concerns about impartiality. This mechanism is managed independently to ensure that all complaints and appeals are handled objectively and fairly. ANCAS® thoroughly investigates each complaint and appeal, taking corrective action if necessary to address any impartiality issues identified. All findings and resolutions are documented, and clients are informed of the outcomes to ensure transparency. By providing this mechanism, ANCAS® reinforces its commitment to accountability and upholding impartiality.

13. Separation of Certification and Consultancy Services

ANCAS® strictly separates its certification activities from any form of consultancy to prevent conflicts of interest. ANCAS® does not offer consultancy services to avoid situations where its impartiality in certification could be questioned. Additionally, individuals or organizations who have provided consultancy to a client are not permitted to participate in that client’s certification assessment. This clear separation ensures that ANCAS® remains an objective and unbiased evaluator of compliance, preserving the integrity of its certification process.

14. Commitment to Ethical Standards

Upholding the highest ethical standards is central to ANCAS®'s impartiality policy. All employees, auditors, and representatives are required to adhere to a code of ethics that emphasizes integrity, fairness, and impartiality in all actions. Ethical conduct is embedded in ANCAS®’s culture, and violations of ethical principles are taken seriously, with disciplinary measures applied as necessary. By committing to ethical standards, ANCAS® ensures that impartiality is not only a policy but a fundamental value that guides its certification activities and interactions with clients.
